Südafrika ab 01. August 2021 kein Virusvariantengebiet mehr

Deutschland stuft Südafrika ab Sonntag nicht mehr als Virusvariantengebiet ein. Die auch in Deutschland vorherrschende Delta-Variante habe die Beta-Variante dort mittlerweile weitgehend verdrängt, sagt eine Sprecherin des Bundesgesundheitsministeriums zu Begründung. Mit der Herabstufung entfallen etwa das Beförderungsverbot und harte Quarantäneauflagen. Südafrika wird nun als Hochrisiko- oder Hochinzidenzgebiet eingestuft. "Wer nicht geimpft oder genesen ist, muss nur noch für zehn Tage in Quarantäne, kann sie aber durch einen Test auf fünf Tage verkürzen." Heruntergestuft werden auch afrikanische Länder wie Namibia, Botsuana, Malawi, Mosambik, Sambia und Simbabwe.
